Jumbo’s concept design for Coup D’Etat is a study in contrasts. Inside an OMA-designed white box, Jumbo proposed a central display podium of pillows squished by jagged pieces of Jerusalem marble. This concept renders the retail shopping experience as both commerce and religion: The podium as bazar and the point-of-service as sacrificial altar.
